LINDA RISINGER: What’s important when you go to court is to realize you’re putting 25 years of marriage—

LINDA RISINGER: --maybe 10 years of raising a child into a day, a day and a half in front of a tryor of fact who’s never met you or your family. There’s a story to be told and it’s my job to make sure my client’s story is told. That’s really what a day in court is.

LINDA RISINGER: Almost every court requires you to mediate prior to trial. I’m a mediator trained by the American Arbitration Association.

LINDA RISINGER: I never forget that even though it’s my case, it’s my client’s divorce, these are my client’s children.

LINDA RISINGER: I remind myself of that every day, especially if we’re walking into a courtroom or mediation. Identify each and every client’s needs, each and every client’s goals.

LINDA RISINGER: And then it’s my job and my firm’s job to figure out how to get them there.
